How do I get my email not to show in my messages or posts or in the member list in a group?

In some Groups, you can hide your e-mail address in this way, but in other Groups, you can't; it depends on one of the settings the owner chose when he/she created the Group.

To check to see if you can hide your e-mail address, log in to your Group's home page on the web. Then click on Edit Membership near the middle of the top line (just below the ad if there is one). At the botttom of the Step 1 Your Contact Information section, you might see a sub-section called Email Address Display, with a check-box for Hide My Email And IP Address From The Group Moderators in it. If you see this sub-section with this check-box, then check the box. Don't forget to click the Save Changes button (towards the lower-right-hand corner) when you're done. If you don't see that sub-section, then you can't hide your e-mail address like you want.

How do I get my email not to show in my messages or posts or in the member list in a group?
the full e-mail address is only available to the groups owners. while on the group or viewing the members list if you are just a member, all they see is 'Bla_bla@......' members will only see that full address via individual mail settings.

if your e-mail is the same as your Yahoo ID, even if the group allows hiding the e-mail, your Yahoo ID will always appear, and with this setting you can only post from off the group site, not via your e-mail provider.

Since Freecycle group owners require that you receive individual emails or Daily Digest emails, you could either change your group email to Daily Digest or unsubscribe from the group. Here's how to do both:

-To change the email delivery:

Sign in to the group.

Click "Edit Membership" near top of page.

Scroll down to Step 2. Message Delivery.

Select "Daily Digest"

Scroll down to bottom of page and click "Save Changes"

-To unsubscribe (leave) the group:

Sign in to the group.

Click "Edit Membership" near top of page.

Click "Leave Group" near the bottom right side of page.

On the next screen that comes up, click "Leave Group".

You will be instantly unsubbed at that point.

You might receive a few more messages via email from that group, then the emails will stop completely.

How can I put several email addresses into a group or category so I do not have to type each address?

You have to make a group listing on your Send page. If done right, then you checkmark the people you would like to send it to once, then save that setting, so you just have to click that one checkmark in the future.

How can I put several email addresses into a group or category so I do not have to type each address?
well, I think I understand what you want to do. Go to the Yahoo mail page, then click compose. Yahoo will open up where you have a place to put email addresses. simply click on the beginning of that line and your contacts will come up in a window. follow directions from that point in the window. hope that helps.
Reply:you search for that group in yahoo groups and make yourself a member of it. then you can simply type the group's email id to send the mails to all the members..
Reply:This is really easy Yvonne.

Go to your mail page and click the "addresses" tab. Your address book opens-----you will see across the top, several tabs such as delete --send mail--AND "add to category".

Now, put a check in the little box by each name you want and then click "add to category".

A drop down menu--where you need to click "new category". A pop up asks you to name it and click ok,---and the names are entered into a specially named category.

You can add to it, or delete from it as you wish.

Type the category name on the TO (or BCC) line and they all get the same mail.

How do you import email addresses into Outlook/Express INTO A CONTACT GROUP from a .csv file?

I can import email adresses but I have about 2000 addresses I want to import from a csv file - I don't want them mixed up with the addresses currently in the address book. I want to use the import list as a group on its own. HELP

How do you import email addresses into Outlook/Express INTO A CONTACT GROUP from a .csv file?
Two ways to do this. You could create another address book as a sub-directory to your current and import the CSV into it using the File %26gt; Import/Export wizard.

Otherwise you can also add a Category to the contacts so you can easily filer them from your other via View %26gt; Arrange By %26gt; Category.

To do this take the CSV and import it into Excel. Then in the category column type in a word that you want to Categorize them with. Apply this to all records and save the file. Now go back to Outlook and use File Import to import the xls file. Make sure to click on the Map Custom Fields button near the end to match up the field mappings.

Once all the contacts are imported, click on contacts. View %26gt; Arrange By %26gt; Current View %26gt; Phone List. Then go to View %26gt; Arrange By %26gt; Category. Your newly imported contacts should display separately with the custom category.

Feel to ask any questions.

Is it possible to have 2 separate email lists in one Yahoo group?
No, sorry, there aren't any options like this. You would have to have 2 separate Yahoo groups, one for friends and one for family.
Reply:No not really. You can use the facility to receive only special messages as a way of having two groups of people but one of them will get all messages so its not really what you want.

Two groups is the simple and best solution. Members only need a single Yahoo profile to be a full member of all groups.

Why are my email replies from my yahoo mail to yahoo group posts not getting posted?

I have not changed any settings, nor my email address. One day the replies from my email would post fine and the next they would not. The moderators have not changed any of the settings on "replying" or "posting" to the groups. I am not a moderator of any of these groups. This problem occurs with all the groups I attempt to post to. Please Help.

Why are my email replies from my yahoo mail to yahoo group posts not getting posted?
I think you are bouncing. Here are some sugestions to help clear it. = If group messages sent to your email address are returned to Yahoo! Groups as undeliverable ("bouncing"), your Yahoo! Groups account may be temporarily disabled.

Messages can be returned for several reasons:

Your mailbox may be full -- try deleting messages from your Inbox.

Your ISP may have a backlog of email to process -- contact your ISP.

Your ISP may be blocking email from Yahoo! Groups -- contact your ISP.

In many cases, Yahoo! Groups can automatically reactivate your account once the delivery problem is solved. However, this process can sometimes take a few days. To immediately reactivate your account:

Visit your My Groups page.

Look for a bounce alert near the top of the page.

Click the "Go to My Email Preferences" link

Click the "unbounce" link next to the bouncing email address.

This will immediately send an email to your mailbox. If it is no longer bouncing, you will receive that email. Click on the link in the email.

However, please be aware that reactivating your account will NOT immediately restore email delivery. The change in your status still needs to be propagated to all your groups. Usually, this will happen within hours, but there may be occasional times (particularly if you are in a group that is bigger than 75 members) when it may take a day or more.

Unfortunately you can only add both addresses if you create two separate contact entries for them. And don't forget that there is a daily sending limit on Gmail: 500.

The digest of my group's email contains two of everything - how can I correct this?

One of the Yahoo groups I own is sending out duplicates of each message when it sends a digest. That is, within each digest there are two copies of every message that was sent to the list. This is annoying members and I can't see how to correct it or how to report it as a fault to Yahoo. Can anyone help or advise please?

The digest of my group's email contains two of everything - how can I correct this?
There was a huge problem with Yahoo Groups and having tons of multiples of messages of the exact same message when a member posted. They thought that they had the problem fixed.

I would definitely contact a Yahoo Groups' customer service representative to let them know what is going on to see if they can help you figure out what is going on.

Is there a way to tell yahoo mail to allow ALL messages from a certian email group? (not a yahoo group)?

I want to receive all messages from this group, how can I make sure they all come to my inbox and not my bulk foler.

Is there a way to tell yahoo mail to allow ALL messages from a certian email group? (not a yahoo group)?
Yes. I belong to a number of Genealogy mailing lists. and this is what I do.

The first thing you can do is to make sure the e-mail address for the group is in your personal address book.

When E-mail from the group appears in your Bulk folder, open it and clink on the "Not Spam" tab.

If the problem continues, create a filter that will send the desired mail to your Inbox. You can find this by using the Options link.

You have to add them one by one, because there is no way u can add them all together.
Reply:When you have read the email just click on add to my contacts list, it should do all at once or sometimes, it asks you to pick which ones by putting a tick by their name etc., hope that helps, Goodluck! If I remove a member from my yahoo group does he get an email letting him know?

I have a guy who creeps me out in the group I run and I am trying to phase him out of the loop. I am hoping he will just fade away and not notice I dropped him from the group. But if Yahoo sends him an email it may cause tensions because we have some of the same friends. So does Yahoo notify them if they are dropped?

How do I block the send to email addresses when I send an email to a group of people?

You have two options:

Option A: Use mailing list management software. You only compose and send the message once, but it is actually sent to all the people on the list. The messages go out as individual messages to each user. Many e-mail programs have plugins to allow you to edit and manage mailing lists.

Option B: While less elegant and harder to maintain, but fine for small lists, you can just use the BCC (Blind Carbon Copy) field for the addresses instead of CC (Carbon Copy). The recipients won't see the addresses in the BCC field.

How do I block the send to email addresses when I send an email to a group of people?
If your send-to names are in a group, send the mail to yourself, with the group name as BCC, Blind Carbon Copy. That way, no one sees the actual names.

In order to join a group you must register with Yahoo. You would receive a Yahoo address but you can use your other email address as your alternate one for joining a group.

Or you can subscribe to the group as an email only member. You would not have access to the group's web features but could receive and send emails to/from the group. You would not need to register with Yahoo for this.

Images in email to group?

I use Outlook 2003. I pasted images directly into email and sent them to my group. I receive group mail via outlook. The pictures show up in my copy of my post that came back to me, in Outlook, but they are not visible in the post (via browser) and other group members aren't seeing them. Is Yahoo groups stripping the images from the body of the email?

Yahoo will eventually restore saving images to the archives, via the web, but until they do, only those on individual mail will see them

In Yahoo group only members with yahoo id can be invited, no other email ids will be allowed?

in Yahoo group, only members with Yahoo ID can be invited ?

In Yahoo group only members with yahoo id can be invited, no other email ids will be allowed?
It is true that full fledged members must have a Yahoo ID.

If you are using the Invite feature on Yahoo groups, you can use people's email addresses to send the invite. But they would still have to register and acquire a Yahoo ID during the process of accepting the invite.

If they do not wish to have a Yahoo ID, you could add them (with their permission) to the group using their email address. They would be email only members and could not access the group features. They would only be able to send and receive messages to and from the group.
Reply:invites can be sent to any e-mail address, not just those with Yahoo ID's. the invites contain info so the member can obtain an ID if they don't have one. the invite also contains the option to not obtain an ID and be an e-mail member only

How do I forward a group of contacts the same email without having to type their emails in individually?

Once you have the e-mail you want to forward on the screen, hit "forward" If you already have them in your contacts, all you have to do is type the first letter in the "to" plane and your contacts will appear. Then click on the name you want to insert. If you are using the 'old" Yahoo mail page, click "insert contacts" and check all the ones you want and then click "insert contacts" and they will fill in for you. Unfortunately, with the new Yahoo mail page, you have to type the first letter for each contact for the list to come back up to insert the rest of your contact addresses. Then hit "send".

How can I place a group list on my yahoo email contacts, such as family?

This is the easiest way to do it (you can add a new group and the contacts for this group at the same time). Open your email account and click on "Contacts". The default "All" contact list will appear in the column on the right side of the screen (and this list will contain all of the contacts in your Address Book, regardless of category). If your family members are already listed in your Address Book their contact information will be in the "All" Category. Just check the box for each family member and then at the bottom of the screen click on "Add to Category" - a drop-down default menu will appear and at the the bottom of this list is the [New Category] button. Click on it %26amp; a small "Add Category" window will open. Type in Family in the "New Category Name" box, then click "OK". The "Family" category will open, showing the contacts you have added to category "Family". You can also edit the contact information for each entry by clicking on [Edit]. If you have a family member that is not listed as a contact in your Address Book, just click on "Add Contact" and the "Add Contact" screen will open. In the Primary Information section, type in the pertinent information and when you reach the "Category" box, click on "Family". Page down and on the left, bottom corner of the screen click on "Save". This contact is now included in your "Family" category - or group.

That takes care of adding a new group or category to your Address Book. But when you open your main email screen to your Inbox, I think you should also create a "Family" Folder in the "Folders" column on the left of the screen. Click on the "Add" button, at the top across from the "Folders" heading. A window will open asking you to "Please enter a name for your folder." In the box, type Family and then click "OK". There are two sections in the Folders column - the default "Folders" and below that the "My Folders" section. You will find the "Family" folder you have created in the "My Folders" section. When you receive an email from a family member in your Inbox, you can either check the box for that particular email, then click on "Move" at the very top of the Inbox and when the drop-down menu appears, it will show all of the Folders you have created and you just click on the Folder you want - i.e. Family - and that email will be moved to your Family folder and you can open it from there. If you have a bunch of emails from family members already in your Inbox, just check the box of each email and "Move" them all at once to your "Family" folder. Or, if you happen to open the email from your Inbox, you can still "Move" the open email to your "Family" Folder, using the same procedure. This is a great way to provide easy and convenient access to your family emails - just click on the "Family" folder and there they all are. I have created quite a few folders to organize and manage my emails - Family, Friends, Business, To Do, Sundry, etc. - and this system saves time %26amp; makes it a lot easier to locate a particular email.

Good Luck!

How can I place a group list on my yahoo email contacts, such as family?
To make a group list open your Yahoo mail page; click on "Contacts"; click on "Add Category" ; enter a name for the category (which is really your List's name); Click "Done".

Open Contacts again; put a mark next to each person you want in your group; at the top, click "Add to Category"; choose the name of your list. It's created!

Now when you compose an email, click on "To:" and your contact list comes up; at the top you see the alphabet you use to find a contact; at the end of the alphabet it says "Categories"; click it, find the list you made and click in the "To" column; click "Insert checked contacts" and your category name will appear in the address line of your email, but all the people in the group will receive your mail.

Good luck.

Reply:just like the above answer. :) but no seriously, you do the same thing in pretty much in any e-mail. You Becky are probably asking about Lotus Notes. When you open it u go contacts not to mail = groups = and on top of that page = new = group.
Reply:First you must have all contacts in your address book.

1. From your Yahoo Mail page, click the Contacts tab.

2. Check the boxes next to the names you want in this group (category).

3. Click the "Add To Category" tab avbove the address book.

3. In the new drop down menu, click on "New Category." 4. Type the title of the category in the box that opens in the upper left. Click OK.

4. When you wish to send an email to the group, click on "TO" to open the address book.

5. It will be in the top right corner of your mailing list, for mailing.

6. When your list of categories opens, check the box next to the "title" of your group, go to the top and click on "Insert Checked Contacts."
Reply:In Outlook, click Contacts, then File, New, Distribution List. Create name for the list, and then just add the email addresses. You can easily update by clicking the list and remove/add as needed.

My emails are rejected by yahoo when I have my blog address in the body of the letter or send a group email?

Yahoo rejects my group emails that I send to my list of contacts saying there are too many recipients or just plain rejects them. I put my blog address in the body of the mail and I think this is one reason my email was rejected in the past, but now it seems there is another reason yahoo rejects my emails. I realize yahoo is trying to protect their customers from spam, but these people asked to be on my email list and I am not spamming them. Now it is too late to send them the information because it is past the date of the show.

My emails are rejected by yahoo when I have my blog address in the body of the letter or send a group email?
Currently the limit is 100 addresses, but no more than 50 may be sent to the same domain.

Click on Create Text File on this page (XXX=your exact group name):

Give your File a name ("Welcome New Members") and Paste the copied file into the obvious place.

Check off when you want the file to be sent* and Save the change.

* Upon pending membership (if you approve new members)

* Upon joining group (after approval or on joining, it no approval is required)

As always, hit the Save button! :-)

Allowing members to hide their email address from the group?

I am owne/moderator of a restricted group that some people have joined under false pretenses in order to obtain members' email addresses and solicit them. I'm considering selecting the option that allows members to hide their email addresses. I don't use the Polls feature so that doesn't matter. My questions are:

1) If I allow members to hide their email addresses will I, as owner/moderator, still be able to view them?

2) Will members who hide their emails be able to respond to other members' posts via email?

3) Is there a better way to prevent people from joining and obtaining member emails?

Thank you,

Dorlene

Allowing members to hide their email address from the group?
1) No, you will not be able to view their hidden email addresses. It will just say "Not Disclosed" Even if they post a message via the web site, it will still not show up. The only way you could know their email addresses (which could easily change without your knowledge) is for you to save their original request for membership email. Of course as soon as the person's is approved, they quickly go in and edit their membership to hide their email address. In fairness though, honest members do use this feature to prevent spammers from getting their email addy.

2) Members who hide their email address will not be able to respond to other member's post via email. They can only post messages directly on the web site.

3) I wish there was a better way to prevent spammers from joining just to harvest email addresses. There are lots of spammers who join groups, actively participate for long periods of time, and still are harvesting members email addresses. %26lt;Sigh%26gt;
Reply:Dorlene, on #2, it would depend on how you have the message reply set up on your group. If you have the down arrow, he/she could send it only to the one member or post it to go to the whole group plus appear on website.

As moderator I want a group of members to convert from email only to group webpage. How is that done?

Go to your group's Members page.

In the default sort, all of your email only members are listed after the members with Yahoo IDs, so click the link to navigate to the "Last" page. If there are more than 10, click the "Previous" page link after going to the end.

Next to each member (yes, you can only do one-at-a-time) click the "Request Profile" link.

You will then see a page that previews the message that Yahoo will send to their email address and have the option of adding a personal message to be sent along with that.

Then click the "Send Request" button.

Do you have a note on your group's home page that all members need to have Yahoo IDs? If not, some folks will want to stay on email only and you shouldn't force them to get a Yahoo ID. If you have a group that relies heavily on participation in polls, posting of files or photos, etc. then you are justified in wanting everyone to have a Yahoo ID so they can participate fully. I own a group that serves as a mailing list for a club. Some of our members post pictures and videos of club activities, but some are on email only just to be notified of club activities. These email only members post to the group and share in the discussion and planning of group activities, so their lack of a Yahoo ID is irrelevant.

How do I stop repeated forwarding of an unsolicited non-member email (to my group) to the group owner?

The original email, from info@ntouch4.com, was sent 9/17/07 to my group. The group is restricted, so non-member email is forwarded to the owner. Since then, I've gotten hundreds of identical emails, all showing identical header info (date/time sent never changes) in my personal email. There is one email command in my group log, on Sept 17, 2007, to forward the original message.

How do I stop repeated forwarding of an unsolicited non-member email (to my group) to the group owner?
they're actually probably sending it directly to the owner address which is located on every group thats in the directory. you cant prevent it or stop it either. as you see them just delete them.

How do you attach a document to a yahoo groups email?

Yahoo is still having some problems at the moment. Suggested cures range from Update Adobe Flash Player and Java script to clear IE7 cache, cookies, and browsing history. Different things seem to work for different people. It's causing attachments to not show, 999 errors where it won't let you do a particular action and some people cannot send receive delete or move mail. It's not just Vista either it's happening to some of us on XP. If all else fails go back to classic mail via this link. http://us.mg1.mail.yahoo.com/dc/optout?s... click yes when asked do you want to opt out. Hope this helps.

How can I view messages that I sent? I don't mean email - I mean from within my group.?
I understand what you are asking is about messages sent to a single member, not to the entire group.

After you send a message it shows you a sort of confirmation message indicating that the message was sent. That is the only verification that there is, and it really does not verify much, because it could be being sent to a non-working email address.

The message link in the group only shows messages that are sent to the entire group, not individuals. That link is of no use to you for what you are asking about.

There is no way to view or keep track of messages sent to individual members through the group, like you can by looking in your sent folder when you are using your regular email, that is the drawback to using the group email message function to send individual messages.

As long as a message is going through a group, there isn't a way to remove the group name from the subject line....or at least not a way that I've found. I'm the owner of three Yahoo groups.

Having the group name in the subject line does serve one purpose...it lets people know that it is a group message and not a private one. It's very easy to send what was supposed to be a private response to a group message through the group. That can be embarrassing.
Reply:The Group name is enclosed in brackets.

How can I retrieve an email address I used to "invite" someone to joing the group?

I sent an Invite but got no response, and I have no other means to contact the person I invited. I would like to resend the invitation, with more explanation. Does Yahoo Groups maintain a "send" file that would contain that email address?

How can I retrieve an email address I used to "invite" someone to joing the group?
Sign in to your group.

Click Management%26gt;%26gt;Group Activity%26gt;Memberships

In the Search field, type "invite". This will pull up all invites. You can look through them and find the one you sent.

The person's email address will be in the middle (Member) column and your name/addy will be in the third (Activity) column.

Box Visit Your Group covers email?

As a moderator for my group I want to move the box "Visit Your Group" as it covers text and picture in postings to the group. Can anyone help?

Box Visit Your Group covers email?
it's a mail preference choice

at the bottom of the posts, there's a link that says "Switch format to Traditional"

or

go to home page click edit membership top middle of group- scroll to bottom next page and select Traditional- click save changes
Reply:Thanks crazy_mom2_one that worked. Report Abuse

Reply:Unfortunately, you can't move it. But you can get rid of it. To do the latter, sign in to your Group's home page on the web. Then click the Edit Membership link near the middle of the top line (just below the ad if there is one). Then scroll down to Step 3 Message Preference. In that section, select Traditional instead of Fully-Featured. Don't forget to click the Save Changes button (near the lower-right-hand corner) when you're done.

When I enter the name for an email group, it will not take it. What's the problem?

well are u spelling everthing right!~

I need to group people in my contacts, so all i have to do is email that group instead of going threw everybod?

n fact, yes! Categories are groups of contacts in your address book ("School Friends", "Neighbors", "Oddballs"). You can compose one email and send it to everyone in a category.

Can contacts be in multiple categories? Yes! And you can have up to 1,000 categories in your address book.

If you ever want to send an email to your entire directory of contacts, the "All" category contains them all.

To view your contacts by category, select the category on the left menu of your address book.

To create, edit, or delete a category:

1. Click the Contacts tab to open your Address Book.

2. On the left side of your Address Book page, next to "Categories", click Edit.

3. To add a new category, click the Add Category button on the far left. Enter a name for your category and select the sort order. Click Add Category when you're finished.

4. To edit a category, click Edit next to the category name. Make your edits, then click the Save button.

5. To delete a category, click Delete next to the category name, and then the Delete Category button.

6. Note: You can also make changes to categories by clicking Options -- which is displayed on your top right hand side on your address book. Then from there you can begin the process.

To add a contact to a category:

1. While viewing your Yahoo! Address Book contacts, check the box next to the contact(s) you want to add.

2. Locate the "Add to category..." pull-down area.

3. From the pull-down menu, choose a category (or create a new category) that you would like the selected contact(s) added to.

Note: You can also add a contact to a category by starting on your main Address Book page. Simply check the box of a contact, then click the Add to Category... button. To add someone to multiple categories, hold down the "CTRL" or "Apple" keys and click multiple categories, then Save.

To remove a contact from a category:

1. While viewing contact in a specific Yahoo! Address Book category, put a check in the box next to a contact's name and click the Remove from Category button.

Please note: You can't delete or rename categories that Yahoo! has added. These are default categories and may not be edited.

How can i get my yahoo group member email id?

Hello, please help! I can't find how to send a group email to my whole list(category) of contacts?

I'm going on the trip for a month, and just set up the list/category of people who like to receive group emails about my travels. I've used yahoo for this before in the past, but suddenly this time I can find absolutely nothing about sending a group email like this, without having to type in all 21 addresses each time. Shouldn't I be able to do this automatically, as in the past? Thank you in advance. I sure hope this feature hasn't disappeared from yahoo mail.

Hello, please help! I can't find how to send a group email to my whole list(category) of contacts?
When you start a new mail message, click the 'to' option, your whole address book will appear, now just click each contact you wish to send the mail to, then when you have finished selecting click 'insert checked contacts', then hit send.

There is also an option to create a new group, which might suit your needs very well. Include everyone you will be mailing in a group together, then create your email and send to the whole group in one hit. You will find this option to create as 'new category' after clicking 'add to category' on your contacts page.

I hope you made sense of all that, and that I have answered your question successfully. Do enjoy your trip, and good luck!
Reply:If you upgraded to the New mail---that's why you can't find what you're looking for.

You might want to switch back to Classic mail to create your "Categories" ----AND ----email anything using them.

You can use the link at the top of the page (next to sign out) that says----"Mail Classic"--OR--"All New Mail", to switch back and forth.

Or---click this link to return to Classic---then click "yes".

Guys would you get mad if a young lady got your email address from a group email and then emailed you?

I am interested in this guy, but all we do is stare at each other. Neither one of us ever makes the first move so would it be a immature thing to do if I just emailed him out of the blue? I don't know what I would really say, but I don't know any other way to start communication because neither one of us will step up. I am in my late 20's and he is in his early 30's but we only see each other at this weekly event that's how I saw his email address.

You're in your 20's...

It shouldn't be hard to initiate a conversation.

This is like adolescent stuff...

Just say hi to him and start a conversation

How do I email people in my group?

I am recieving emails from people in my group but when I reply or put in the address of my yahoo group I get a message that it was undeliverable. I have registered at bonnie.parkin@yahoo.com but have an alternate adress that mail is delivered to. What am I doing wrong in order to recieve mail from the yahoo group but not be able to send any out?- Thanks - Bonnie

How do I email people in my group?
it would help to know the error listed on that returned mail. you either need to reply while reading on the group, or reply from the address you have chosen for that group. the posting address will end with @yahoogroups.com

to check that address,

go to this link http://groups.yahoo.com/mygroups click edit my groups on the top left- locate group (if there's more than one) under the column Message Delivery, look to see what is selected- click the arrow for the drop down box and select other address- click save changes
Reply:Most groups require membership to avoid spammers. Thus if you are a member of the group as one address but send mail to the group by any other address your message will be rejected.

I received an email from "yahoo group promo" re: Your email Won...So, is it spam?

I didn't get it at my Yahoo account, but at my dsl provider email account.

Reply:totally spam!!!
Reply:Beware. Yahoo answers have not opened any such competetion. Even you fair quite well they declare theanswers as Best Answers. And they also underline Top Answerers on the basis of expertise in answering in a particular field. Just ignore such spams

What is this site and why cant i im you why this site and not just email do you want to start a group?

Yahoo Answers is a Question and Answer site allowing the public to ask questions (like yours) and get answers (like mine). Not everyone on here wants to allow email or IM contacts. There are already a LOT of groups associated with this site.

Check this link: http://answers.yahoo.com/info/scoring_sy...

for all the information about scoring, points and levels. You can return to that page by clicking the blue # link next to your points or level by your avatar. Also:

http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/answers...

which is the blue HELP link at the top right of this page has a lot of answers and instructions for you. Welcome %26amp; have fun!!

What is this site and why cant i im you why this site and not just email do you want to start a group?
I believe the site is YAHOO! Answers. Yes I would be interested in starting a group.
Reply:I don't think you get the real beauty of this site. This site was created not only to chat with people but to help others out. Think about it, you have a question about anything, you just submit your question and people from all around the world and all walks of life will in turn submit their answers. Where else do you have such an awesome access to so many people. You can still IM this site at the same time. Don't reject, embrace! You will become addicted like the rest of us. Enjoy!

I need to email a group of 130 people weekly. How's the best way to set this up and manage in Yahoo or other?

You could start a Yahoo group and, with their permission, ADD those 130 people to that group. Then you would post one message weekly directly to the group itself. Copies of the messages would automatically be sent via email to all 130 people.

Here is the link to how to start a Yahoo group:

most e-mail providers, web based or ISP wouldn't allow that many BCC or not. it'd be tagged as spam. some mail providers will outright shut you down if they detect more than the limit. your best bet is to shorten that 130 into thirds or fourths and then send it
Reply:with Yahoo you could use the BCC in the compose box however I don't know what the number limit is if any. Possibly you would have to split it up

One of my group members' email is always flagged as potential spam when it's not! What to do?

Out of the 273 members in my group, only the email of one person gets sent to me (the moderator) as potential spam and I constantly need to approve her emails (even though it's an unmoderated discussion). How can I indicate to Yahoo Groups that this member is NOT a spammer???

you can turn it off in management, it's a waste of time anyway when you moderate new members
