Replying to an email using the group email address...?

Hello,

In my company we have an email group called service. All emails sent to service@mycompany.com get routed by the server (SBS 2003) to 4 people that are a part of the service e-mail group.

is there any way that i can set mailboxes so when they respond to a service e-mail it sends it from service@mycompany.com instead of j.hendrix@mycompany.com, p.griffin@mycompany.com etc..

Replying to an email using the group email address...?
yes provided your running exchange 2003 you can grant permissions to that mailbox service@mycompany.com, this would then allow you to select service@mycompany.com in the from field.

If your not familiar with this you should have a systems administrator or exchange expert at your company able to make the change.

The only issue you will have is if the service@mycompany.com address is just an entry in your Global Address List (GAL) and not actually a mail box. This can be easily changed though.

At my company we do it all the time we have an ithelpdesk@mycompany.com address and its routed to 8 people including an application that automaticly logs the job.

once the job is loged the helpdesk staff can respond using there ithelpdesk@mycompany.com address
Reply:No way!
