To leave a yahoogroup, either go to your groups page (the page that lists all your groups, or the page of the group you want to leave) and there should be a link on either page that says "leave group" or something like that.

How do I sign out of a yahoo group and discontinue a yahoo email account?
Easy. Just do nothing. Yahoo will shut down the account after it has been dormant for 3 months. It may be 4 months, but either way all you have to do is simply never sign on to the Yahoo account and it will just go away given time.
